New Mobile Site

March 14th, 2010

Today we’ve launched a beta of our mobile site. This should mean that if your browsing on an iPhone or similar mobile device, you’ll find the site much easier to navigate and read.

We’ve got a lot more plans for the site in the very near future, so watch this space!

News Feed updates

March 14th, 2010

We’ve made a small update to our News Feed server today, which fixes a problem that stopped some of the News Sites coming through. This included Autosport, Sky Sports & F1 Fanatic. The News feed should now show all new articles from these sites.

Planet F1 news is still not coming through, but we’re working to fix that as quickly as we can (it was this feed that actually caused a problem on our servers!).

Updates for the 2010 season

February 16th, 2010

With only 24 days left until the opening Practice at Bahrain, the 2010 season is already shaping up to be as exciting and exhilarating as the last!

We have 4 new teams (with much debate on how many of those will really make it to the grid), lots of driver changes, and Schumacher is back!

Rest assured that the team here at F1 Insider are raring to go, and we have lot’s of exciting stuff planned for this year!

We are also aware that our existing application is yet to be updated for 2010. We have actually submitted our update to Apple, but they are taking a very long time to review it (it’s been several weeks now!). But don’t worry, we are looking at ways to get the schedule updated from the server this week, so all existing applications will be updated.

We have unfortunately had to make a few changes to F1 Insider for this year:

1. Due to licensing issues, our Live text commentary has been temporarily removed. We will not be running this for 2010. We are trying our best to bring this back, and we will keep you updated if anything changes.

2. Our free version of F1 Insider, F1 Insider Lite, has been discontinued and removed from sale. It’s with regret that we do this, but unfortunately it’s something we had to do for the long term benefit of the service. We hope that if you enjoy the free version, you’ll consider upgrading to the full version.

Stay tuned for more updates in the future, and thank you for the support of every one of our customers. 2009 was a fantastic year for both us and F1, and we think 2010 is going to be even better!

Suzuka stuck on Live screen

October 17th, 2009

Many of you will be having a problem with the application not updating to show the Brazilian Grand Prix under the Live Screen.

First of all I’d like to apologise for the inconvenience this problem is causing.
Please note the Brazilian Grand Prix is still being covered Live, and you can find the commentary and race results under the Circuits list.

This is a problem we are aware about, and have already sent a new version to Apple to fix this problem, just under 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately Apple are taking a little longer than usual to release this update.

Again I’d like to apologise for the inconvenience, and we hope our new update will be released very soon.

F1 Insider reviewed in sidepodcast.com!

September 8th, 2009

This is what sidepodcast.com had to say about F1 Insider:

“This app does pretty much everything that the others do, but is presented well, has regular, plentiful news updates and for me – it passes the finish line in first place.”

Belgium Grand Prix Qualifying
